Nicodemus, Father of Monasteries
Saint Nicodemus of Tismana · feast day: 26 December
Nicodemus was a monk who lived long ago on Mount Athos, a mountain full of monasteries. God called him to come to Wallachia. There he built monasteries at Vodita and Tismana. Many young men came to learn to pray from him.
