Volume VIII · Stories of Joy and Hope
The Evening of a Thousand Stars

Summer was nearly over. In the evenings the windows of the block of flats stood open, and from below came the creak of a swing and the voices of children. The sky between the buildings slowly turned pink, then blue. In the living room, Mum had lifted an old box of photographs down from the shelf.
The story continues in volume VIII, “Stories of Joy and Hope”: told in full, illustrated, with everything that follows it.
